John 19:7-9

⁷ The Jewish leaders^[a] answered Pilate,^[b] “We have a law, and according to that Law he must die because he made himself out to be the Son of God.”

⁸ When Pilate heard this, he became even more afraid. ⁹ Returning to his headquarters,^[c] he asked Jesus, “Where are you from?”

But Jesus did not answer him.
